Overview
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports. This role is ideal for someone who is high-energy, highly organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Although the role has a broad scope, it offers excellent work-life balance, steady hours, and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Manage sales recognition and purchase recognition
- Handle accounts receivable, including timely application of payments, support for collections, and invoice generation
- Manage accounts payable, including assembling, reviewing, and verifying invoices, and reconciling transactions
- Administer sales commissions for representatives and distributors
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain asset management and conduct inventory and COGS analysis
- Support full-cycle month-end and quarter-end closing processes, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger adjustments, and financial reporting
- Assist with sales and use tax filings
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, conducting research, and preparing reports
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
- Skills and Qualifications
- 3–4 years of related experience
- Bilingual in Korean highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Master’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Experience with ERP systems highly preferred
- QuickBooks experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work additional hours when needed to meet deadlines
- Experience working with a Korean-based company is a plus
