Overview

  • A beauty and personal care company is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Product Development Coordinator / Associate to support its growing business.
  • This is an entry-level to early-career role focused on supporting new product development from market research and concept creation through sampling, packaging, costing, and launch. The position provides hands-on exposure to the full product development cycle and to daily coordination with domestic and
  • international manufacturers, suppliers, and internal business functions.
  • The ideal candidate is curious about the beauty market, comfortable working with data and detail, and eager to learn product development in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Training and direct mentorship will be provided by the Director of New Business Development. The final position level will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product development projects from concept through commercialization, under the direction of the Director of New Business Development.
  • Conduct market and trend research on consumer needs, competitive brands, ingredients, product formats, and packaging; summarize findings into clear, usable reports and presentations.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and in-store/online shop-alongs, including price, assortment, packaging, and claim comparisons.
  • Maintain product development documentation — development briefs, specification sheets, cost sheets, project trackers, timelines, and sample logs.
  • Coordinate day-to-day communication with domestic and international suppliers: request quotations and samples, follow up on open items, and track submission status.
  • Receive, organize, evaluate, and archive product and packaging samples; document evaluation results and consolidate internal feedback for supplier revisions.
  • Support packaging, artwork, and component development by routing files, tracking revisions, and checking accuracy against specifications.
  • Assist with cost, MOQ, lead-time, and margin data collection and consolidation to support pricing and profitability reviews.
  • Prepare presentation and sales-support materials in PowerPoint and Excel for internal reviews and customer meetings.
  • Support post-launch tracking of product and market performance and help identify line extension and improvement opportunities.
  • Support additional new business development and product-related initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a specific degree.
  • Professional Experience
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience in beauty, personal care, consumer products, product development,
  • sourcing, merchandising, marketing, or a related field.
  • Recent graduates and candidates with relevant internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Exposure to working with manufacturers, suppliers, or sourcing partners is a plus.
  • Interest in and awareness of the beauty and personal care market is strongly preferred.

  • Professional fluency in English is required. Korean language ability is strongly preferred for communication with overseas manufacturing partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to track multiple projects, samples, suppliers, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling specifications, costs, and documentation.
  • Solid working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize research into concise reports.
  • Resourceful, collaborative, and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Reliable on-site attendance at the North Wales, PA office, five days per week.

Nice to have

  • Interest or experience in Beauty Supply Stores or multicultural beauty consumers.
  • Familiarity with mass retail, specialty beauty, drug, e-commerce, or marketplace channels.
  • Awareness of textured hair, protective styling, multicultural and inclusive beauty, K-beauty innovation, or accessible mass-market beauty products.
  • Basic familiarity with social media and digital content trends in beauty (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube).
