We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controls Specialist / Cost Manager to support project cost management and controls for major capital projects.
Responsibilities
Track and analyze project costs, including approved budgets, commitments, actual expenditures, accruals, and forecasts.
Prepare and manage monthly accruals, ensuring costs are accurately recorded and forecasted in coordination with project teams and vendors.
Prepare monthly forecasts and variance explanations, identifying key cost drivers, trends, risks, and corrective actions.
Coordinate monthly forecasting reviews with project managers and discipline leads to validate remaining work, commitments, and forecast assumptions.
Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Monitor project commitments and validate contractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.
Facilitate the evaluation and processing of change orders and funding requests.
Support capital project closeout activities, including final cost reporting, reconciliation of commitments, and asset placement into service.
Assist with the annual capital budgeting process.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
5+ years of experience in project controls, cost management, or a related field.
Experience supporting energy sector or large-scale capital projects preferred.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
