Position Summary
The Human Resources Specialist / Assistant Manager supports day-to-day Human Resources operations for a manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for staffing coordination, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, attendance administration, benefits administration, payroll support, HR compliance, and employee record management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of handling confidential information, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing
Coordinate staffing requirements with staffing agencies and department managers.
Review resumes, screen candidates, and schedule interviews.
Support recruiting activities for direct hire and temporary positions.
Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
Maintain recruiting, hiring, and staffing reports.
Assist with workforce planning and staffing analysis.
Attendance & Payroll Administration
Review employee attendance and timekeeping records.
Coordinate attendance-related issues with supervisors and department managers.
Investigate timecard discrepancies and attendance exceptions.
Support payroll preparation and payroll-related employee data maintenance.
Maintain attendance reports and supporting documentation.
Benefits
Administration
Coordinate employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Assist with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plan administration.
Coordinate SIMPLE IRA administration and employee deductions.
Support annual open enrollment activities.
Serve as a liaison between employees and benefit providers.
Employee Relations
Serve as a point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries.
Assist with employee investigations, counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance management processes.
Support performance evaluation administration and employee development
initiatives.
Assist management with employee relations issues and conflict resolution.
Promote employee engagement and workplace communication.
HR Compliance & Administration
Maintain employee personnel files and HR records.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
Support employee onboarding, transfers, promotions, and separations.
Coordinate employment verification requests and immigration-related
documentation.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Support employee handbook administration and HR policy implementation.
Maintain HRIS and employee database information.
EHS & Administrative Coordination
Coordinate EHS-related employee documentation and recordkeeping.
Support safety training administration and training records management.
Manage visitor registration systems and contractor onboarding requirements.
Coordinate employee badge issuance and access control administration.
Assist with compliance-related projects involving HR and EHS.
Training & Organizational Support
Coordinate employee training programs and training records.
Support orientation, OJT, compliance training, and development programs.
Assist with HR process improvements and special projects.
Participate in organizational initiatives and employee engagement activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
3-8 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
Manufacturing HR experience strongly preferred.
Experience working with staffing agencies and contingent workforce management preferred.
Knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, payroll support, and employment law.
Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Bilingual Korean/English is preferred but not required.
