Connect your AI app
The server address, what you need before you start, and links to each app.
Every AI app connects to Tahoe the same way: you give it Tahoe’s server address, sign in with your own Tahoe account, and choose what the app may do. This page explains each part once, so the app guides can stay short. For the exact clicks in your app, open its guide at the end of the page.
The server address
https://mcp.hiretahoe.com/mcpCopy it exactly, with https:// at the start and /mcp at the end. You can also copy it in Tahoe from Settings → Connected apps, under Use Tahoe in your AI app.
Before you start
- A paid Tahoe plan, such as Starter, Growth or Enterprise. Trial workspaces cannot connect. Using Tahoe from an AI app costs nothing extra.
- AI apps allowed in your workspace. This is on by default. Owners and admins control it in Settings → AI connectors.
- An AI app that can add a remote server with sign-in. Some apps only offer this on paid plans, or need an admin to turn on custom connectors first. Each guide says when.
Connect in three steps
Add Tahoe to your AI app
Add the server address as a custom connector. Apps use different names for this: custom connector, custom app, tool, MCP server or extension.
Sign in and choose what the app may do
A browser window opens. Sign in to Tahoe the way you usually do, then pick the workspace, the permissions and the tools on the Tahoe sign-in page, and click Allow.
Turn Tahoe on in a chat
Back in your app, switch Tahoe on for the chat and ask your first question.
What the sign-in page shows
After you sign in, Tahoe shows a page titled with the app’s name, for example “Claude wants to work with your Tahoe account.” The top of the page tells you who is asking, so you can refuse anything you do not recognize.
| On the page | What it means |
|---|---|
| Verified by Tahoe | A known app that Tahoe has checked, such as Claude or ChatGPT. |
| Registered by your workspace | An app your workspace owner or admin registered in Tahoe, such as Gemini Enterprise or Copilot Studio. |
| Unverified app | Tahoe has not checked who publishes this app. Continue only if you set it up yourself. |
| Signed in as | The Tahoe account the app will act as. |
| You will be sent back to | The web address that receives your approval. Continue only if you recognize it. |
Apps that run on your own computer, such as Claude Code and Cursor, show localhost as the return address with a warning: “This app runs on your computer. Continue only if you just started this connection yourself.” That is normal when you started the connection.
Choose a workspace
A connection works in one workspace. If you belong to several, pick one from the list, which shows your role in each. A workspace that cannot connect is greyed out with the reason. You can move the connection to another workspace later in Settings → Connected apps. To work in two workspaces at once, for example for two agency clients, add Tahoe to your app twice and connect each one separately.
Choose what the app may do
Start from a preset, then tick or untick single permissions if you need to:
| Preset | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Read-only | Look, but never change anything. If the app tries to change, spend or send something, Tahoe refuses with a clear message and nothing changes. |
| Recruiter (recommended) | Everyday recruiting: reading, organizing candidates, managing jobs and outreach, and spending credits on searches and contact details. Sending email, publishing jobs, exporting to your ATS and posting on LinkedIn are asked for separately the first time you need them. |
| Full access | Everything your Tahoe role allows. |
Recruiter is selected when the page opens. You can never give an app more than your own Tahoe role allows. Sign-in and permissions lists all 18 permissions.
Choose the tools the app sees
Under Tools the app sees, each area of Tahoe is set to Off, Core or All. Core shows the everyday tools, and All adds the advanced tools of that area. Fewer tools keep the app focused on what you use.
| Area | Starts at |
|---|---|
| Essentials | Core |
| Search and sourcing | Core |
| Outreach | Core |
| Jobs and applicants | Core |
| GitHub search | Off |
| LinkedIn posts | Off |
| ATS and CRM | Off |
| Admin and billing | Off |
The switch Show every tool in the areas that are on turns on the advanced tools in every area you left on. To change the areas later, disconnect the app and connect it again.
When you are done, click the Allow button, which carries the app’s name (for example Allow Claude), or Cancel to refuse. Tahoe emails you a confirmation with a link to the connection, so you can disconnect it if it was not you.
Who applied to the Field Coordinator job in Columbus, Ohio this week?
Jordan Rivera, a recruiter at Kestrel Labs, adds Tahoe to Claude and asks this. The Tahoe sign-in page opens with the badge Verified by Tahoe. Jordan belongs to two workspaces, picks Kestrel Labs, keeps the Recruiter preset and the default tools, and clicks Allow Claude. Back in Claude, the answer lists the new applicants with their stage and match score. Reading applicants is free.
One-time setups in the Tahoe dashboard
Some features use an account that only the Tahoe dashboard can connect, in your browser. Your AI app cannot do this part for you. If you ask for one of these before it is set up, the app replies with a link to the right page.
| To do this from your AI app | Connect once in Tahoe at |
|---|---|
| Send email from your Gmail | Outreach → Mailboxes |
| Search GitHub for developers | GitHub |
| Publish LinkedIn posts | LinkedIn Post |
| Export candidates to your ATS or CRM | ATS & CRM → Integrations |
| Buy credits or change your plan | Billing |
How long a connection lasts
- A connection request expires after 10 minutes. If you leave the sign-in page open longer, go back to your AI app and connect again.
- You stay connected for up to 90 days, as long as you use the connection at least once every 30 days. After that, the app asks you to sign in again.
- Changing your password or email, or being removed from the workspace, disconnects the app. Sign in again to reconnect.
You can see and end every connection in Settings → Connected apps. Manage your connections
