Tools reference

Every tool your AI app can use, grouped by area, with its class, side effects and cost.

When you ask your AI app for something, it picks one or more Tahoe tools to do the work. This page lists all 88 tools, grouped the way the consent page groups them, with what each one does, whether it changes anything, and what it costs. You never need to name a tool yourself; ask in your own words. The names help when your app shows which tool it is about to run, or asks you to approve one.

How to read this

Every tool has one of three classes, which tell your AI app how careful to be with it:

Class	What it means
Read	Changes nothing. It only looks things up, so apps usually run it without asking.
Write	Creates or changes data in your workspace, such as saving people to a list or editing a draft.
Sensitive write	Spends credits, sends, publishes, or is hard to undo, such as deleting something. Apps ask you before each use.

Side effects says exactly what a Write or Sensitive write changes. Reads have none.
Cost is in credits. Paid tools take a ceiling and report what they charged. Credits and limits
Default set says whether the tool is in the Core set. When you connect, each group on the consent page can be Off, Core or All. Core shows the everyday tools; All adds the rest of the group. Fewer tools keep your app focused.
In Muse marks the curated set of 30 tools that Meta Muse gets, so that Muse can finish every task it starts. Meta Muse
Microsoft Copilot Studio limits how many tools one server can add, so it always gets a compact set: the Core tools.
Your app only sees tools your Tahoe role and your workspace’s settings allow. If an admin turns off a capability, such as sending email, its tools disappear from every connection. A Read-only connection sees only tools that change nothing.

Find matches for my Staff Data Engineer job.

The app finds the job with tahoe_jobs_list and reads it with tahoe_jobs_get (both Read, free). It turns the job into filters with tahoe_search_preview (Read, free) and shows them to you with the price. Running tahoe_search_run is a Sensitive write because it spends 2 credits, so the app asks first. After you agree, it runs the search and saves the people you pick with tahoe_profiles_save (Write, free).

Statuses

Some answers carry a status. These are the ones you will meet most often.

What	Statuses	What to know
Contact lookups	`pending`, `in_progress`, then `completed`, `partially_completed`, `failed` or `cancelled`	`tahoe_contacts_reveal` waits up to about 45 seconds. If the lookup is still running, the answer says `in_progress` and gives a run ID, and the app checks back later with `tahoe_contacts_reveal_status`. Each value then shows as `found`, `not_found`, `pending` or `failed`. You pay only for values found.
Campaigns	`draft`, `launched`, `paused`, `stopped`, `completed`	Only a draft or paused campaign can be edited. A stopped campaign cannot be started again; its scheduled emails are cancelled.
Jobs	`draft`, `scheduled`, `published`, `closed`, `archived`	A new job is a draft until it is published. Scheduled jobs go live at their publish time. Closed jobs stop taking applications and can be reopened.
Applications	`new`, `in_review`, `advanced`, `rejected`, `withdrawn`, `hired`	Each application also sits in one of the job’s pipeline stages. Rejecting uses its own tool and always needs a reason. Candidates are never emailed by a move or a rejection.

Long searches, such as a GitHub search, run in the background. The app starts them and checks the progress with tahoe_github_get.

Not available through AI apps

For your security, some things can only be done in the Tahoe dashboard. If you ask for one of them, the app replies with a link to the right page:

changing your password or email address
deleting your account
API keys
removing teammates
transferring ownership of the workspace
changing the AI connector settings themselves

Connecting Gmail, GitHub, LinkedIn or an ATS, and paying, also happen in your browser, never inside the AI app. The tools return a link when one of these is needed.
