LinkedIn contacts

Import your LinkedIn connections and find their contact details.

The people you already know are often the fastest hires. My LinkedIn Contacts turns your LinkedIn connections into a private, searchable contact list in Tahoe. You download your connections from LinkedIn, upload the file once, and then search them, add notes and resumes, and look up their emails and phone numbers.

In the side panel, choose Contacts, then My LinkedIn Contacts. Your contacts are only available inside your Tahoe account and are never posted back to LinkedIn.

Get your connections file from LinkedIn

LinkedIn lets you download a copy of your data, including a file called Connections.csv that lists your first-degree connections. Requesting it takes about two minutes.

Request your data

On LinkedIn, open Settings & Privacy → Data privacy → Get a copy of your data. Select the larger data archive and request it. In Tahoe, the import screen has a Open LinkedIn data settings button that takes you there.

Wait for LinkedIn's email

LinkedIn emails you when the archive is ready. LinkedIn says larger archives can take up to 48 hours. You can close Tahoe and come back later.

Find Connections.csv

Download the archive, unzip it and find the file named Connections.csv.

Import the file

Open the import

Click + Add Contacts (or Add my LinkedIn contacts if your list is empty). The My LinkedIn Contacts tab of Add Contacts opens.

Upload Connections.csv

Click Choose Connections.csv, or drag the file onto it. Tahoe recognizes LinkedIn’s columns and matches them for you. The whole file imports, however many connections you have.

Check and import

Look over the preview and click Import with the number of contacts, such as Import 1,284 contacts. Column matching and preview

When it finishes, Tahoe says how many connections it imported and how many contacts your network now holds. To update your list later, import a newer Connections.csv: people already in Tahoe are refreshed, not duplicated, and rows without a name are skipped.

Add details by hand

Click Add info (or the How we met or Resume cell) to open Add contact info. You can change the name, add a work email, personal email, phone, company and position, write how you met, add a photo and attach a resume (PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF or TXT, up to 10 MB). Click Save contact info.

Look up emails and phone numbers

Select contacts on the current page and click Enrich selected, or click Enrich on one row. The Enrich dialog opens: tick company email, personal email or phone, check the estimate and start. You pay only for the details Tahoe finds, and looking up details needs a paid plan. Enrich contact details

While a lookup runs, the cell says Finding…. When it ends, the cell shows the detail, Not found (nothing to find, not charged) or Try again (the lookup failed, not charged). Tahoe saves every email and phone it finds automatically.

Example

Example

Jordan Rivera at Kestrel Labs wants to know who in their network could fill an operations role in Ohio.

Jordan imports Connections.csv once, then types “operations” in the search box. Twelve contacts come up. Jordan selects the five strongest fits, clicks Enrich selected (5), ticks only Company email and starts the run. Four emails come back (4 credits) and one contact shows Email not found, at no cost.
