The exact inputs and outputs of every tool, as your AI app sees them.

This page lists the inputs and outputs of all 88 Tahoe tools, exactly as your AI app sees them. It is built from the same tool catalogue the Tahoe MCP server publishes, so it always matches what the server does. You never fill these in yourself: your app reads what you ask and fills in the inputs. How to read this

On this page	What it means
Class	Read changes nothing, Write changes your workspace, and Sensitive write spends credits, sends, publishes, or is hard to undo.
Permission	The permission on the Tahoe sign-in page that the tool needs.
Required	Yes means the app must always send this input. Other inputs are optional.
Type	string, integer, number, boolean, object, or an array of one of these. "or null" means the value can be empty. Outputs are always returned unless marked optional.
One of	The input or output takes one of a fixed list of values.

IDs are handles with a prefix, such as job_ for jobs, app_ for applications, cnd_ for saved people and lst_ for lists. Your app gets them from other tools’ answers. Some tools also accept a Tahoe dashboard link instead.
max_credits on a paid tool is the most that call may spend. If the estimate is higher, nothing runs and nothing is charged. Credits and limits
idempotency_key on a tool that changes something lets your app retry safely: a repeat returns the first result instead of acting twice.
cursor and next_cursor page through long lists, and dashboard_url opens the same item in Tahoe.
When a tool cannot do what was asked, it returns an error code instead of these outputs. Error codes

Preview search filters. Class: Read. Permission: Run searches.

tahoe_search_run

Run candidate search. Class: Sensitive write. Permission: Run searches.

Side effects: Runs a paid search and spends 2 credits (identical filters are not charged twice). The search is added to search history, and saved if a name is given.

tahoe_profiles_save

Save people to list. Class: Write. Permission: Organize candidates.

Side effects: Adds people to a list in Saved Profiles, creating the list (and project) when a new name is given.
