Add contacts

Add people by hand, from the candidate hub or from a CSV file.

Add Contacts is where you bring people into Tahoe yourself. Its three tabs cover the three ways in: find someone with Tahoe’s search, type in a single record, or import a CSV file of your LinkedIn connections.

In the side panel, choose Contacts, then Add Contacts. The + Add Contacts buttons on My LinkedIn Contacts and Saved Contacts open the same page.

This tab says “Find people in Tahoe’s candidate hub.” Click Search in Tahoe to go to Search → New Search, where you describe the person, check the filters and run the search. Type your description on the New Search page itself. Search for candidates

If something is missing, the form tells you, for example “LinkedIn URL is required” or “Resume exceeds the 10 MB limit.”

My LinkedIn Contacts (CSV import)

This tab imports a CSV file. It is built for LinkedIn’s Connections.csv, and the page walks you through requesting it from LinkedIn first. How to get Connections.csv

Choose the file

Click Choose Connections.csv or drag the file onto it. Tahoe reads it in your browser and shows how many rows it found and how many are ready to import.

Match the columns

For a LinkedIn file, Tahoe says “Recognized as a LinkedIn connections export” and the columns are already matched. LinkedIn’s short note at the top of the file is skipped. For any other CSV, it asks you to match your columns. For each Tahoe field, pick the column from your file that holds it, or none.

Check the preview

The Preview table shows Name, LinkedIn, Email, Company, Position and Connected on for the first rows. If it says no rows have a usable name, match a First name and Last name column, or a Full name column.

Import

Click Import with the count, such as Import 1,284 contacts. Large files go up in batches, with a counter such as “Importing 500 of 1,284…”. The whole file imports.

Tahoe fieldNotes

Last name
Full nameUsed only if First name and Last name are blank.
LinkedIn URL

PositionThe person’s job title.
Connected onThe date you connected.

When it finishes, Tahoe says how many connections it imported and how many contacts you now have. People already in your list are refreshed rather than added twice, and rows with no name are skipped. Click View my LinkedIn contacts to see them, or Import another file.

Examples

Example

Maya Okafor at Harbor Staffing meets a forklift operator at a job fair in Columbus, Ohio.

Back at her desk, Maya opens Create New Record, enters his first and last name, his LinkedIn URL and the phone number he gave her, attaches the resume he emailed, and adds the note “Job fair, available for night shift.” She clicks Add Contact. He is now under Added manually in Saved Contacts, with his phone already filled in.

Example

Maya has a CSV of past applicants with the columns Name, Email and Employer.

On the My LinkedIn Contacts tab she uploads the file. Tahoe does not recognize it as a LinkedIn export, so she matches Name to Full name, Email to Email and Employer to Company, checks the preview and imports.
