Gemini
Connect the Gemini app, Gemini CLI or Gemini Enterprise.
There are three ways to use Tahoe with Gemini. Pick the one that matches how you use Gemini:
- The Gemini app on the web and on your phone, with a personal Google account.
- Gemini CLI in your terminal.
- Gemini Enterprise at work. A Gemini admin and a Tahoe owner or admin set it up once for the company, then each person signs in.
In every case you need a paid Tahoe plan, and AI apps must be allowed in your Tahoe workspace (they are by default). Connect your AI app explains the Tahoe sign-in page.
Gemini app
Google is still rolling out custom apps in the Gemini app, and they are not offered on every account yet. If you do not see Custom apps in your settings, use Gemini CLI, or ask your company’s Gemini admin about Gemini Enterprise.
- Open gemini.google.com and go to Settings → Connected apps → Custom apps → Add a custom app.
- Paste
https://mcp.hiretahoe.com/mcpand click Next. - Sign in to Tahoe, choose your workspace and what Gemini may do, and click Allow.
Apps you connect on the web are also available in the Gemini mobile app.
Gemini CLI
Add Tahoe once from your terminal:
gemini mcp add --transport http tahoe https://mcp.hiretahoe.com/mcpThen start Gemini CLI and sign in. Your browser opens on the Tahoe sign-in page:
/mcp auth tahoeTo check the connection later, run /mcp. It lists your servers and shows whether each one is signed in. Type / to see Tahoe’s ready-made commands. Slash commands and skills
Gemini Enterprise
Gemini Enterprise connects through an app that your Tahoe workspace registers for itself, so only your company can use it. Two people set it up once: a Gemini admin, and an owner or admin of your Tahoe workspace.
Start the server in Gemini
The Gemini admin opens Manage team → Connected apps → Add MCP server and copies the redirect URL that Gemini shows.
Register Gemini Enterprise in Tahoe
The Tahoe owner or admin opens Settings → AI connectors and goes to Registered apps. Under App, choose Gemini Enterprise. Paste the redirect URL into Redirect URL from your admin console and click Register app.
Tahoe shows a Client ID and a Client secret, with the addresses to paste back into Gemini.
Finish the server in Gemini
The Gemini admin fills in these values:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Transport | Streamable HTTP |
| Server URL | https://mcp.hiretahoe.com/mcp |
| Authorization URL | https://mcp.hiretahoe.com/auth/authorize |
| Token URL | https://mcp.hiretahoe.com/auth/token |
| Client ID and client secret | From the previous step |
| Scopes | workspace:read candidates:read jobs:read outreach:read |
These four scopes only let Gemini read. They are the starting point: each person still chooses what to allow on the Tahoe sign-in page.
Each person signs in
The first time someone uses Tahoe in Gemini Enterprise, they sign in with their own Tahoe account. The Tahoe sign-in page shows the badge Registered by your workspace.
The registered app works only for the Tahoe workspace that registered it. If you click Disable next to it in Registered apps, nobody can sign in through it any more, and everyone connected through it is disconnected.
How many people applied to each of our open jobs this month?
A recruiter at Kestrel Labs asks this in Gemini Enterprise after signing in. Gemini reads the hiring numbers from Tahoe and lists each open job, such as Field Coordinator in Columbus, Ohio, with its count of new applicants. Reading reports is free.
